Privacy
What this site collects.
This is a personal portfolio. There are no ads, no newsletter, no tracking pixels from anyone else, and nothing here is sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get read. It records the page you viewed, the page that referred you, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device, browser and language. Google uses the IP address to work out the approximate location and does not store it. The script is loaded only once the page has finished settling, so it never delays anything you came here to read.
Two things are recorded beyond page views: whether the confidential case study was unlocked or showed its password prompt, and which items on the posts page get opened. Neither includes any password or anything you type.
Cookies and local storage
- Analytics. Google Analytics sets a cookie to tell repeat visits from new ones.
- The confidential case study. Entering the password sets one cookie so you are not asked again for seven days. It is httpOnly and signed, contains no personal information, and exists only to keep you logged in.
- Theme. Choosing light or dark saves that choice in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
The MCP server
The MCP endpoint lets AI tools query my professional background. It records which tool was called and which client connected, so I can tell whether the thing gets used at all. It deliberately does not record the queries sent to it - if you search it, that text is not stored or forwarded anywhere.
Opting out
Blocking cookies for this site in your browser stops the analytics cookie, as does any content blocker or Google's ownopt-out extension. Nothing on the site breaks without it. Clearing your cookies also signs you out of the confidential case study.
Getting in touch
If you want to know what is held about you, or want it deleted, message me on LinkedInand I will sort it out. Realistically there is very little: the analytics data is aggregate and not tied to a name.
